Synopsis:

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, called "a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love."

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn't know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won't keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that's not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as "a gripping read from an author who's not afraid to take risks." Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.

My Review:

This is the last book in the series, and I freaking loved this series so much!! This review is going to be kind of scatter brained and totally spoiler-y. I was writing it while I was listening to it, so I had a lot of thoughts while listening!

It's heartbreaking to see Warner's reasons for keeping Juliette. He wanted her to let go, to hurt hum, but whenever she would come out of her shell, she would retreat.

Adam is so cruel when he tells Juliette that her struggles are not valid. He makes her suffering seem worthless because he has become bitter and has lost hope. He says she doesn't know how to be alive, but he doesn't know how to be a person. But she just hast to accept his idiocity. He belittles her hope and desires for a better world because he does not know the real her. Adam physically and mentally detains her all the freaking time. He is always insulting Juliette. I seriously don't like Adam. He's so selfish and can't think about the greater good. He tries to guilt her into loving him-in front of EVERYONE! He is demanding and controlling and thinks he knows best, but he insults and hurts Juliette constantly-he doesn't understand that he broke up with him so long ago. He keeps turning her into a victim instead of being a person who is full and has feelings.

"I need to be free. I need you to understand." - Juliette to Adam

Juliette acknowledges she loved him because he was the first person to love her. She wants to live a full life free of an oppressor-this includes a person who would stifle her desires-Adam. Warner, on the other hand, wants to help her and her friends and their fight against the Reestablishment.

Kenji is the first to accept Warner when he laughs at Warner's insult.

Juliette kicking ass and taking names in Chapter 20 gives me life! I was so happy and like "YAS! BECOME A LEADER!"

Castle comes to life around Juliette's fire.

James is more mature than his older brother.

Juliette is a strategist in pulling all of Omega Point together with Warner! She also acknowledges herself falling out of love and possibly never truly loving Adam. (Kenji points this out too, by the way).

"If you loved me, you wouldn't stand in my way." Juliette to Adam.

Juliette's moment with Kenji on the roof is so sweet. I love it when he says, "Maybe your lady bits are scientifically confused." I died.

Warner allows Juliette to have friends, opinion, and be her own person. Warner treats Juliette like an equal who is able to do anything.

When Adam doesn't get his way, he gives her the silent treatment. Adam obviously never loved Juliette because if he truly did, he would never have turned on her. Like, he tells her to drop dead. "Thinking you were dead was so much better..." Like What the hell Adam? He is breaking her heart and making her curl back into herself, but everyone else helps her out of her turmoil. (Warner is the last person who keeps her from completely shattering.)

"I am enough and I always will be." - Juliette

Whenever Warner blushes, I get happy. His training with Juliette is too much. (I think I love the couples sparring trope.) James' relationship with Warner is adorable as well.

"All this proves is that you're incredibly good at turning me off." Juliette is savage against Adam. And then when Adam tries to kill Kenji with Juliette's power, I was so pissed!! But then she turns off her power and everyone hugs her and shakes her hand and it turns a crap situation into a cute one.

CHAPTER 55!!!!!!

I love the moment between Warner and Juliette in his house because he finally allows himself to feel. He is in a safe space with her.

Juliette shooting Anderson twice: once for Adam and once for Warner. JUSTICE!!

"I AM JULIETTE FERRARS AND I WILL LEAD THIS NATION." Hellz yes!

Overall, I just freaking love this book so much! I know this was a mess of a review, but I have a lot of emotions, especially the ones between Warner and Juliette. You can tell my feelings about Adam as well.

Seriously, even if you have read the books, listening to them gives another level to it! I loved being able to  hear the the sarcasm in the characters' speeches.
